Frequently asked questions

How often should I have an eye test?

For most healthy adults, every two years is ideal. If you wear contact lenses, are over 60, or have a family history of glaucoma or diabetes, we'll usually recommend annual checks. We'll always advise the right interval for you.

Do I need a referral for an OCT scan?

Not at all. OCT imaging is included as standard in our Advanced Eye Exam and Clarity Care Plan, and can be added to any appointment. No GP referral is needed.

Can I use my own prescription to buy glasses?

Yes — bring a valid prescription from any registered optician and our dispensing team will be delighted to help you choose frames and lenses to suit it.

Do you offer NHS-funded eye tests?

We do. Children under 16, those over 60 and patients meeting certain clinical or income criteria are eligible for NHS-funded sight tests. Just let us know when you book and we'll confirm your eligibility.

What's your policy on frame adjustments and repairs?

Adjustments and minor repairs are always free for frames bought with us, whether or not you're on a care plan. Just pop in — no appointment needed.
